Hello, my name is Barry King.
I'm a single, disabled man in my mid 50's.
I was involved in multiple car accidents and two major back surgeries.
I've been disabled since 1985. Art has always been my life, my passion, and my obssession.
I spend most of my time ( excluding the time I'm in severe pain ) devoted to my art, some days spending up to 12 hours a day working on it.
I have been drawing and painting for at least 50 years, I have no formal training, I'm self taught.
Up until about a year or two ago I worked in what I knew - the traditional methods of artists...oils, watercolours, acrylics, pencils, etc
These days, because of my disabilities, I do most of my work on a wacom tablet. No photo manipulation is done on my work, everything I create I draw and/or paint by hand using the wacom.
I am without representation at the time and am seeking someone that can or will want to represent me.
At this stage, and age in my life, considering I don't have a place in the workforce any longer, I can devote all my time to my art.
I recently developed a new and ( I think ) unique style that's never been done before with digital art.
I call it - CURVILINEAR ART.
It's the bending and twisting of shapes and patterns that I create first to achieve the affects in this new work.
All the work I do I strive for perfection, for that photo realistic look.
I also have over 50 original abstracts done in acrylics, and still, from time to time create new pieces.
I'm influenced a great deal by Edward Hopper, Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock...to name a few.
Thank you,
Barry King
